This piece is a two sided encaustic piece. One side features a tree, while the other is abstract similar to the artist's Native series and shows much of the live grain of the wood slab it was painted upon. The wood retains much of its character with the bark still attached to the sides, while the bottom is  a clean cut that allows the piece to stand upright.
